The Wonder of Monarchs - Paine Art Center and Gardens

The Wonder of Monarchs

June 7, 2022 to July 17, 2022

Monarch Waystation

From early June to mid-July, the Paine is hosting a monarch waystation in our gardens.

Witness the monarch life cycle from egg to caterpillar, chrysalis and butterfly; learn how you can promote a healthy monarch population; and engage in fun family activities to celebrate Wisconsin's role in monarch migration.

Located in the Children's Garden on the south side of the estate, the monarch waystation features monarchs in various stages of life cycles on display. You'll find spaces for eggs to hatch into caterpillars, as well as areas for caterpillars to feed on milkweed as they grow, transform into chrysalises, and finally emerge as butterflies!
