Star-Studded Soles: Autographed Shoes Courtesy of Britton’s Walk-Over Footwear

This diverse, private collection of autographed celebrity shoes has been assembled over the past decade by Britton’s Walk-Over Footwear, located on Main Street in Oshkosh. The collection began in 2008 during the filming of Public Enemies in downtown Oshkosh, when Britton’s loaned a pair of vintage shoes to the production and in return was given a pair of shoes worn by actor Johnny Depp in the movie.
Since that time, the store has purchased shoes from charity auctions and events or simply requested a pair after a chance star encounter, as was the case with a gift from Reese Witherspoon of a pair of stylish hot-pink and orange slingbacks.
From rugged athletic shoes signed by Green Bay Packer players to glamorous stilettos designed by Stuart Weitzman and worn by Beyoncé and Jennifer Lopez, this fun collection captures our fascination with footwear, fashion, and fame. When not on view at the Paine, highlights from this collection are on display at Britton’s Walk-Over Footwear, a locally owned, third-generation family business originally established in 1927.
