Tom Uttech: One With Nature

Inspired by his countless pilgrimages deep into the woods of northern Minnesota and the Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, renowned Wisconsin artist Tom Uttech’s paintings have been described as Magic Realism, depicting a world where real and imaginary flora and fauna exist in a fantastical universe.

“Tom Uttech: One With Nature” presents more than two dozen photographs and a selection of his paintings, including Uttech’s large-scale masterwork, Nin Gassinsibingwe (I Wipe My Tears). The photographs and paintings come from the collection of the Museum of Wisconsin Art in West Bend, the leading institution dedicated to preserving and presenting the work of the state’s artists.
