August 8, 2019 to August 11, 2019
In early August, the Paine's gardens come to life with characters and scenes from Shakespeare's fantastical play, "A Midsummer Night's Dream." The theater-in-the-round performances engage audiences in a world of fairies, kings, queens and magical spells. Especially intended for children, this fun and interactive theatrical experience reveals the wonder of William Shakespeare's lyricism, imagination and brilliance.
Performances begin at 6:30 pm and last about one hour. Guests will be seated throughout the performance.
After the performance, children are invited to Arts & Adventures in the gardens! Mingle with the fairies and other characters, enjoy giant bubbles and crafts like making crowns, masks and fairy wings, compose music for your own performance or go on a scavenger hunt for fairies and fairy houses.
Midsummer Dream is presented in partnership with Hysterical Productions.
