Toad Houses

May 30, 2015

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Family Discovery Gallery

Found worldwide, toads are small, warty, rough-skinned, bug-eyed creatures that won’t win any beauty contests. But—believe it or not—they are very useful in gardens. These hungry hunters come out at night for a huge meal of insects, so during the day they seek a quiet place to rest. Make a hangout for a toad today with Michelle Lokken. You will decorate this toad abode and get instructions on where to place it in your backyard. Check it out in a few days and see if you have a new garden neighbor just waiting to get to work.

Family Programs are offered on Saturdays in the Family Discovery Gallery on a drop-in basis from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The programs are geared for children ages 5-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is required. Programs are free with admission to the Paine (free for Paine Members and Big Brothers Big Sisters participants).
