Kaleidoscopes

November 1, 2014

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Family Discovery Gallery

Today’s project may be hard to spell, but there is no difficulty in the simple twisting motion that tumbles tiny bits and creates wonderful patterns of colors. To get started, Danielle Lokken has those tiny plastic bits you will need plus mirrors and the tubes to twist. Add you own design on the outside of your kaleidoscope and let the rolling fun begin! Note: this project contains small pieces and is not suitable for very young children.
Family Programs are offered on Saturdays in the Family Discovery Gallery on a drop-in basis from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The programs are geared for children ages 5-12. Children must be accompanied by an adult. No pre-registration is required. Programs are free with admission to the Paine (free for Paine Members and Big Brothers Big Sisters participants).
