Joyful Sculptures

September 20, 2014

11:00 AM to 4:00 PM

Family Discovery Gallery

Henri Matisse is well-known as a painter and printmaker and for the colorful paper cutout shapes that became “drawing with scissors”. But he was also an accomplished sculptor. Thinking about this, Danielle Lokken has a project for you that combines color and shape to make a sculpture. Use bright colors to fill in cardboard shapes and then assemble them into a twisting, turning, delightful 3D work of art!
Family Programs are offered on Saturdays in the Family Discovery Gallery on a drop-in basis from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm. The programs are geared for children ages 5-12.
