Spring arrives early this year at the Paine Art Center and Gardens with the presentation of the First Annual Greater Fox Valley Floral Show. This new event, called “Rooms of Blooms,” celebrates the art of floral design within the ornate rooms of the historic Paine mansion.
The floral show is on view every Friday, Saturday and Sunday throughout the month of March. “Rooms of Blooms” features over one hundred artistic fresh flower arrangements by twenty designers from the region. The beautiful floral creations are inspired by favorite artworks in the Paine’s collection and the exquisite décor of the mansion. “Rooms of Blooms” also features six elaborately designed table settings by area designers.
Come and see the historic interiors bursting with bouquets that are artworks themselves and wander each table setting and marvel at their ingenuity and creativity. Satisfy your spring fever this March by visiting the Paine and enjoying the amazing splendor and spectrum of fresh flowers.

CUTE AS A BUTTON(S)! with Molly Roell
This creative project is filled with color, line and shapes. Molly Roell will show you the basics of composing your own “button bouquet” starting with colorful stems and leaves that twine and turn. Then adding a merry medley of brightly colored buttons, plant it in a tiny pot and you’ll have a sweet centerpiece to keep or give away!

BEATEN BLOSSOMS with Hannah Bober
Fresh cut flowers don’t last a long time. One way to keep the memory of some pretty blooms is to take a photograph. Hannah Bober has another way to help you remember their beauty. However, you will have to trust her when she tells you that you will use a hammer with delicate blossoms and end up with a lovely wall hanging. It may sound a bit odd, but you will enjoy the process and the results!

FLORAL ARRANGING with Katie Scott
Just like when you want to paint a picture and sit down with some paints, brushes and paper, a floral designer gathers supplies when he or she wants to create a beautiful flower arrangement. Of course they need fresh flowers in a variety of colors, a nice container and plenty of green leaves with interesting textures. Katie Scott will have all you need to design your own arrangement waiting for you in the Family Discovery Gallery. It is sure to look great on your table and smell wonderful too!
MUSICAL PROGRAMS
The Paine is pleased to offer live musical programs by area ensembles every Sunday in March. The programs are free with paid admission to the floral show.
