The Paine’s current artist-in-residence is Wisconsin painter Charles Munch. Using bold colors and simplified forms, Charles paints vivid, imaginary landscapes exploring the complex relationships between humans and nature. His residency will culminate in early 2008 with an exhibition at the Paine of recent, large-scale paintings, several of which are new works in progress created especially for this project. As the exhibition opening approaches, Charles will share insights into his intriguing themes and his creative process through an on-line journal on the Paine’s website. More Info
