Artists in Residence

Suzanne Rose Residency - 2009

Suzanne’s residency complemented the Paine’s summer 2009 exhibition, Seeing Ourselves: Masterpieces of American Photography from George Eastman House Collections, by shedding light on the creative process of a living fine art photographer. In the months leading up to the exhibition, the artist turned her lens to Oshkosh, photographing various facets of the community to create a series of photographs for display at the Paine and Mercy Medical Center.More Info

Charles Munch Residency - 2008

Using bold colors and simplified forms, Wisconsin painter Charles Munch paints vivid, imaginary landscapes exploring the complex relationships between humans and nature. His residency culminated in early 2008 with an exhibition at the Paine of recent, large-scale paintings, several of which were new works created especially for this project. Charles shares insights into his intriguing themes and his creative process through an on-line journal on the Paine’s website. More Info

Kim Cridler Residency - 2006

Kim’s residency complemented the Paine’s summer exhibition Electric Tiffany by helping audiences to understand the craftsmanship and artistry of the Tiffany lamps. Rather than trying to reproduce the lamps and emulate the methods used to create them, Kim’s residency engaged audiences with a living artist whose artworks and methods have similarities to the lamps.
